BELL EQUINE Ambulatory Service

BELL EQUINE Ambulatory Service

Our ambulatory service provides a comprehensive range of veterinary services to our first opinion clients, whose horses are stabled within the catchment area of the practice throughout Kent and parts of East Sussex and Surrey.

Services include routine primary care and lameness evaluations, preventive medicine (e.g. vaccinations, dental care, routine health reviews etc), pre-purchase examinations ("vettings"), reproductive management of mares and stallions, import and export management as well as 24h / day, 365 days / year emergency services.

The ambulatory vets also routinely perform the tests required by the state for the export and import of horses. Our vets are frequently on call for equine events ranging from local horse shows, Point-to-Point races, Pony Club events to FEI events and even the Olympic Games! We are happy to attend any equine patient, be it a racehorse, showjumper, broodmare, pleasure horse, donkey or pet.

Ambulatory Vets

Ambulatory Vets

As BELL EQUINE has expanded to cover a larger area, we have recently split the ambulatory vets into separate EAST and WEST teams, to ensure the best possible case continuity and to reduce travelling time and our carbon footprint. Our ambulatory team have access to clinical information, laboratory results and other data on mobile devices for immediate access to relevant information.

Most initial consultations and advice can be provided at the horse’s own stable yard, but, either to suit the client or to work along side the hospital specialists, we can also make appointments to use the facilities of the Hospital (such as trot-up areas, sand school, X-ray machines, ultrasound, endoscope or further advanced imaging). Not forgetting our wonderful equine trained veterinary nurses and skilled horse handlers, who sometimes assist the vets on their visits. We also run specific veterinary nurse clinics for procedures such as blood sampling and bandage changes.

Case Continuity

Case Continuity

We actively encourage clients to have the same vet to visit and see their horses, in order to build trust and a relationship that further enables an individual and excellent service.

Clients can request a particular vet to see, and with the exception of emergencies, where the nearest available member of the team may need to attend, or your particular vet is on annual leave, we always try our utmost to facilitate this.
